Every ring in our collection is listed in both US and EU sizing, so before you order it helps to know your number in either system. Here are two reliable ways to find it at home, no jeweler required.
Method 1: Measure a ring you already own
Find a ring that already fits the finger you're shopping for. Lay it flat and measure the inside diameter in millimeters, edge to edge, then match that number against the chart below. A flexible measuring tape or a printed ruler both work — just measure straight across the inside, not around the outside.
Method 2: The string or paper strip method
Wrap a strip of paper or a piece of string snugly around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, then measure that length in millimeters. Divide by 3.14 to get the diameter, then match it to the chart. Measure at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest, and avoid measuring when your hands are cold — both affect accuracy.
US to EU size conversion
| US Size | EU Size | Diameter (mm) |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 49 | 15.7 |
| 6 | 52 | 16.5 |
| 7 | 54 | 17.3 |
| 8 | 57 | 18.1 |
| 9 | 59 | 18.9 |
| 10 | 62 | 19.8 |
| 11 | 64 | 20.6 |
| 12 | 67 | 21.4 |
A few practical notes
- Between sizes? Size up rather than down, especially for wider or statement-style bands, which tend to fit snugger than thin ones.
- Dominant hand runs bigger. It's normal for your dominant hand's fingers to measure slightly larger than the other side.
- Temperature matters. Fingers shrink in the cold and swell in heat — measure at a normal room temperature for the most consistent result.
